Founded in the early 1990s, Shanghai BOMI Company initially focused on producing and selling sculpting clay for artists, sculpting studios, and educational institutions, establishing a strong presence in the art sector.
In 2000, BOMI entered the automotive market, distributing overseas industrial clay, clay heaters, and tools. For eight years, the company exclusively represented international sulfur-based industrial clays in China, supporting the growth of the local automotive design industry.
In 2005, BOMI invested in independent research and development, resulting in the successful launch of China’s first domestically developed sulfur-based industrial clay (W 353) in 2006, followed by its market introduction in 2007. Continuing its innovation, BOMI developed the country’s first sulfur-free industrial clay (W 358) in 2009.
In 2010, BOMI expanded its influence by collaborating with clay modeling professionals to conduct workshops in universities, fostering new talent in clay modeling. Over the next decade, BOMI actively engaged with OEMs and design companies, leveraging market insights to drive product innovation.
After years of research and collaboration, BOMI unveiled the PD Series Industrial Clay in 2023. By the end of the year, three specialized models—PD-7, PD-8, and PD-9—were launched, offering tailored solutions to meet diverse market needs.
